Adoption Fees for Our Dogs

When we rescue your dog we pay a fee to the animal shelter to release the dog to us (generally $10-$50 depending on the shelter).  After the dog is rescued it goes right to the vet for a thorough examination (usually $45).  Any medical needs are addressed at this time (cost different for each dog). 

After this the dog will go to a foster home where our volunteers will care for their daily needs.  If we have more dogs than we do foster homes, the dog will be boarded at one of several kennels we have approved in Columbus.  At his point we will schedule a laser spay or neuter and the foster parent will arrange this time with the vet.

At the time you adopt your new dog, he or she will be spayed or neutered and be up to date on all of his or her shots. 

Please keep in mind that our adoption fees for dogs are generally between $150 - $200.  On rare occasion they will be a little higher if there is a dog that has required significant medical attention or special needs.

 

bullet Adoption fees for dogs are generally between $150.00 -$200.00 payable to Stop the Suffering.
bullet STS may request a slightly higher adoption fee for pure bred dogs, toy dogs and puppies who require far more vetting. 
bullet STS may request a slightly higher adoption fee if the dog has had significant veterinary or other needs for care prior to adoption. 
bullet STS may decrease the adoption fee for older/senior dogs in need of loving homes.
bullet STS may decrease adoption fee for a senior citizen wishing to adopt a dog

 

Money will buy you a pretty good dog, but it won't buy the wag of his tail.

Our dogs know they are saved.  They come from shelters that are not fun and they are very grateful to you for saving their lives and loving them as unconditionally as they love you!

 

We are in desperate need of foster homes for dogs!

If you are interested in helping Stop The Suffering by becoming a foster parent we desperately need your  help.  Stop The Suffering will pay for all vetting (unless you would like to sponsor your foster dog), food, crate, leash and any necessary medicines.  Please email Lynne to learn more

Fostering is a great way to help us save MORE abandoned and neglected dogs.  If you are a dog lover and want to help, we will be able to save more dogs because of you!
