Our Silver Paws Program, an extension of the Stop the Suffering family, focuses on senior dogs, ages 6 and up, who have found themselves homeless and in a shelter.
We work with our shelter partners to assess each dog coming into the program for medical and nutritional needs.
Our Silver Paw dogs tend to need a little more medical care
Stop the Suffering exists for the sole purpose of rescuing dogs and cats from high-kill rural shelters throughout rural Ohio and transporting them
We raise funds to provide veterinary care, transportation, and food for rescued animals, and also work to provide instruction and resources to promote responsible pet ownership in the community.
The biggest difference between ST
With the support of our donors, community, and volunteers, we were able to transport over 3,000 dogs and cats from high-kill shelters in southern Ohio, northern Kentucky and West Virginia to rescues throughout Ohio, Michigan, and Canada; provide veterinary care to more than 270 lives through our sponsorship program; and adopt 70 plus lives to loving homes in 2017.
